RGB Networks Shows Telcos How to Maximize Advertising Opportunities at TelcoTV
RGB demonstrates innovative MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 advertising solutions for telcos
SUNNYVALE, CA - October 18, 2007 - RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, will demonstrate how telecommunications carriers can maximize their advertising opportunities to generate new revenues from their IPTV deployments at next week's TelcoTV Conference & Expo in Atlanta.
"Television advertising is a multi-billion dollar business and a tremendous opportunity for telcos to generate substantial revenues from their IPTV deployments,"said Jef Graham, CEO of RGB Networks. "At TelcoTV, we're demonstrating our latest technologies and applications that can help telcos earn more than their fair share of the lucrative advertising opportunity."
In its booth (#122), RGB will demonstrate how telcos can insert targeted advertisements into their programming through high density ad insertion and the use of digital overlays that provide a cost-effective method for ad localization. Proven by U.S. cable operators who earned more than $4.3 billion in 2006 according to Kagan Research, local ad insertion is an excellent way for telcos to immediately begin generating revenue from their IPTV deployments.
RGB's Broadcast Network Processor (BNP) will be shown seamlessly inserting ads into live video streams. Additionally, the BNP will also demonstrate how these ads can be further targeted for specific geographies through the use of digital overlays. By overlaying text, graphics and even video directly onto ads in real time, the BNP enables a nationwide ad to be localized to serve specific cities or regions. Because localized content is added in real time, it can be easily updated to highlight time sensitive sales events, new locations and other important information.
Recognizing the benefits that RGB's technology brings to their customers, several RGB partners will be showing the BNP and other RGB products in their TelcoTV booths, including Advanced Media Technologies (AMT - booth #521) and DF Countryman (booth #436).
Complimenting the proven MPEG-2 performance of the BNP, RGB will also be demonstrating its new Modular Video Processor (MVP), the company's first product for the new MPEG-4/H.264 digital video standard. Ideal for telco IPTV applications, the MVP can insert ads into multiple MPEG-4/H.264 streams.
In addition to the various demonstrations throughout the show floor, RGB's Vice President of Product Marketing, Ramin Farassat, will be participating in a panel discussion entitled "Maximizing Advertising Opportunities,"to be held Thursday, October 25 at 4 p.m.
