SENSAGE POSITIONED IN THE LEADERS QUADRANT
FOR 2009 SECURITY INFORMATION
AND EVENT MANAGEMENT MAGIC QUADRANT
Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
In IT Governance, Risk and Compliance Category
SAN FRANCISCO, June 2, 2009—Enterprise software leader SenSage, Inc. today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant in the 2009 Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Magic Quadrant1 report.
Gartner's research for the Magic Quadrant report showed that Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technology provides real-time monitoring and historical reporting of security events from networks, systems and applications. SIEM deployments are often funded to address regulatory compliance reporting requirements, but organizations should also use SIEM to improve security operations, threat management and incident response capabilities.
"We believe SenSage's position in the leaders quadrant by Gartner reflects the success we have had in helping our customers meet their targeted needs for security, compliance and operational risk management," said Jim Pflaging, president and CEO of SenSage. "Our unique event data warehouse solutions are easy for customers to implement and use at a much lower cost of ownership compared to other offerings in the market."
The 2009 Magic Quadrant for SIEM evaluates technology providers based on the most common technology selection scenario – a SIEM project that is funded to solve a compliance reporting issue, but with secondary requirements for effective threat monitoring and security event management. Gartner's research also found that broad adoption of SIEM technology is driven by compliance and security needs. New use cases in areas such as application activity monitoring are emerging.
SenSage event data warehouse solutions allow its customers to address emerging security threats, compliance mandates and a host of risk management initiatives at a fraction of the cost of traditional data warehouse and log management offerings. With SenSage, customers can easily capture, retain and query years of data from multiple sources at any detail level to support their business requirements. Suspicious or risky network activity, from outside or inside sources, is visible, customer information is safeguarded and out-of-the-box reports pass the scrutiny of internal auditors.
